Views from the Summits:
Mount Oberlin
This is a view of Mount Oberlin (center) from the Highline Trail. The peak to the left is Clements Mountain, and the peak to the right of Oberlin is Cannon Mountain.
Mount Oberlin (8,180 feet) is located on Logan Pass, and is only approximately 2 miles north of the Visitor's Center. Looking at Mount Oberlin from this angle is not very impressive, but it's extremely deceiving. Once you get to the summit, everything changes! The west and north faces of this mountain are sheer drop-offs that are 3 thousand feet to the valley floor below! And the summit is actually quite small. Once you're on top, you literally feel like you're on top of the world and you wonder how you got there!
Views from the Summit
The Garden Wall dominates the view to the east. The rounded peak to the upper right is Pollock Mountain, and the sharp spire just to the right of David is Bishop's Cap. Just to the left of Shannon is Mount Gould. Notice the Going-to-the-Sun Road in the lower right-hand corner of this photo, which the Highline Trail above it. The drop off behind us is nearly 3 thousand vertical feet!
This is a view from the summit of Oberlin to the south. The large peak to the right is Clements Mountain, and Reynolds Mountain is the matterhorn to the left.
This is a classic view of Logan Pass from the summit of Mount Oberlin (camera facing southeast). Notice the parking lot far below us. The large mountain to the upper left is Going-to-the-Sun Mountain, and the peak in the distant center of the photo is Little Chief Mountain. Heavy Runner Mountain is to the right. Follow the Going-to-the-Sun Road toward us, and notice the grey cliff that it cuts through as it turns toward the Garden Wall...You can see the Highline Trail just above it as it traverses across this cliff, which is a favorite part of the trail for most visitors.
Mount Oberlin provides incredible views of the Logan Pass Area.

Here's another great view of the Garden Wall to the east.
It's impossible to have a bad day on Mount Oberlin. We've climbed it many times, and each time we climb it is like the first time.
Logan Pass is far below Shannon to the southwest of Oberlin. The peak directly above her is Piegan Mountain.
This is the view to the north. The peaks that you see are part of Glacier Park's Livingston Range. Just beyond the rock that Shannon is sitting on is a 3,500 foot drop-off!
There was a fair amount of snow that we had to walk through at the base of Oberlin.
