Welcome to the Historic Madison Hotel, Motel and Hostel! Built in 1912, The Madison is West Yellowstone's oldest hotel, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, The Madison has most of the amenities you'd find in a modern hotel, but its 1912 charm is still very much alive and well. The original log support columns and beams, wood floors, stone fireplace, light fixtures and many of the room furnishings are all original, which makes your lodging experience at The Madison completely unique, special and memorable.  This historic hotel/motel/hostel truly reflects the rich history of early Yellowstone Park tourism, and there is absolutely nothing else like it in West Yellowstone, or in the state of Montana for that matter.  From the moment you open the lobby door, you'll enter an authentic lifestyle that is true to the heritage of the West.  This amazing environment perfectly sets the mood for visiting Yellowstone National Park, as you step back into the early 1900s. The Madison Hotel offers rooms that are exactly the retreat you'll need after a long day exploring the wonders of Yellowstone. Their charm will relax you and allow you to enjoy a wonderful night's sleep so you're rested up for another adventure the very next day. All hotel rooms are on the second floor with stair access only. Queen or king size beds provided, with private baths with old fashioned claw-foot bathtubs, AC, free WiFi and antique furnishings. Please keep in mind that because this is an original 1912 structure, the walls are not sound proof, and because of this no children under the age of 5 are allowed in the hotel rooms. All hotel rooms have 24 hour access to the historic lobby which as HD television with Direct TV, lounge chairs, couch and a spacious outdoor balcony with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The Madison Motel, which is attached to the main structure, is equally as charming and unique as the hotel, as it's the same construction and era. All motel rooms are on the ground floor, with free WiFi, cozy decorations, HD television with Direct TV, microwave and a mini fridge included. There's no cooking in these historic pine rooms, but there is a large BBQ grill with picnic tables available under a large awning that is lit up for the evening.  Again, every motel room is on the ground level, with free parking provided.  And whether you're staying at the hotel or motel, every Sunday Night at 9:00 pm, you are welcome to come and enjoy "smores" in the lobby by the big stone fireplace!  And if you're hiking, biking or a traveling student on a tight budget, The Madison Hostel is the perfect place for you.  The dormitory-style hostel rooms (all located on the second floor) are gender separated and have two cozy, clean twin beds and a shared lavatory and shower facility. Please note that no children under the age of 5 are allowed in the hostel.  And don’t forget to visit the Madison Gift Shop and the Timberline Cafe during your stay, which are also on the premises.
