63 Ranch

63 Ranch
82 Years of Dude Ranching memories and still counting ... Welcome!  The 63 Ranch history dates from 1863 (hence its name).  In 1982 it was the first dude ranch in Montana declared a National Historic Site.  Our family has owned and operated The 63 continuously since 1929.  The ranch sits at 5,600 feet altitude below Elephant Head Mountain, 50 miles north of Yellowstone National Park, 12 miles from Livingston, Montana. 63 adjoins the two-million acre Gallatin National Forest, straddles Mission Creek Canyon, meets the craggy peaks of the Absaroka Mountains and rolls across grassy hills, rimrock ridges and sagebrush benches above the Yellowstone River.  We think it's the prettiest country in the West and you will too!   At The 63 there's volleyball, horseshoes, table soccer, billiards, square dancing, cards, games or reading from our library on western life and natural history. There's even a swing set and sandbox for toddlers.  Hike trails, climb mountains, explore caves, or watch birds are also available.  Mission Creek, full of fat wild trout, runs for 31/2 miles through the ranch. Tucked among aspen and pine, rustic log or frame cabins with modern bathrooms (tub and shower), plenty of hot water, and firm twin beds (double on request) welcome singles, couples or families with comfort, peace and privacy.  Our wholesome family style meals receive rave reviews.  So if you want to experience the best western vacation you've ever had, join us at the historic 63 Ranch!  You'll be glad you did!
