Narada Falls

Narada Falls is one of the classic waterfall stops in Mount Rainier National Park, and for many visitors, it becomes one of the most memorable moments along the road to Paradise. Located approximately 17 miles east of the Nisqually Entrance, and only about one mile southwest of Paradise, Narada Falls is easy to reach by car and offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the power and beauty of Mount Rainier’s mountain waters without taking a long hike. Every time we stop here, we're glad we did as it's truly a beautiful sight no matter how many times we've seen it.

This 168 foot waterfall is created by the Paradise River as it drops over a rugged volcanic cliff in a broad, beautiful sheet of white water. From the upper parking area, visitors can enjoy the sound of the falls and see the river as it rushes beneath the stone bridge. However, the best view is found by following the short trail down to the lower overlook, where Narada Falls opens up in front of you in a dramatic and unforgettable way.

This LOWER VIEWPOINT is what makes Narada Falls so special. From here, the waterfall seems to pour straight out of the forest, spreading across the rock face before dropping into the misty canyon below. On sunny days, the spray often catches the light and creates a rainbow near the base of the falls, adding even more beauty to an already remarkable scene.

The trail to the lower viewpoint is short, but it is steep and can be slippery, especially when wet, snowy, or icy. Visitors should wear good footwear and take their time, particularly in early summer when snow and ice can linger on the path. Restrooms, picnic tables, and parking are located near the falls, making this an easy and rewarding stop.
