Forks, Washington is one of the main gateway towns to the western side of Olympic National Park. Located along Highway 101 on the Olympic Peninsula, Forks is a convenient place to stay while exploring some of the most famous areas of the park, including the Hoh Rain Forest and the wild Pacific Coastline where Ruby Beach, and Beaches 1, 2, 3 and 4. The La Push Area is near Forks as well, where the scenic First, Second, Third Beaches and Rialto Beach are located. The town offers lodging, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations and other services that make it a practical basecamp for exploring this remote part of Washington.

The Hoh Rain Forest is located southeast of Forks and is one of the most popular destinations in Olympic National Park. From Forks, visitors can also head south along Highway 101 toward Ruby Beach, Kalaloch Lodge and the beaches of the Kalaloch coastline. To the west, the La Push Area provides access to First Beach, Second Beach and Third Beach. Just before you reach La Push, a junction provides visitors access to Rialto Beach to the north.
Forks also became internationally famous because of the Twilight book and movie series about vampires. Author Stephenie Meyer chose Forks as the hometown of Bella Swan, and the success of the series brought worldwide attention to this small Washington logging town. Today, Twilight remains a major part of the Forks tourism scene, with themed shops, displays, photo opportunities and the annual Forever Twilight in Forks celebration.
Bigfoot is also a big deal around Forks. The dense rain forests and remote wilderness of the Olympic Peninsula provide the perfect setting for Sasquatch stories, and visitors will notice Bigfoot signs, souvenirs and references throughout the area.

Bigfoot hangs out in Forks too!
Bigfoot is a really big deal in Forks, Washington. The thick forests, remote mountains and vast wilderness surrounding the Olympic Peninsula have made this area a popular place for Bigfoot stories and sightings for many years. There are serious Bigfoot hunters and researchers who spend time exploring the forests around Forks looking for tracks, recordings and other possible evidence of Sasquatch.
At the same time, Forks has plenty of fun with its Bigfoot reputation. Visitors will see Bigfoot signs, statues and displays around town, along with gift shops selling Sasquatch T-shirts, hats, mugs, stickers, stuffed animals and all kinds of Bigfoot souvenirs. It has become a fun part of the local personality.
