Views from the Summits:
Divide Mountain
This is a view of Divide Mountain from the shore of St. Mary Lake in Glacier National Park. Wild Goose Island is in the lower right corner of the photo.
Divide Mountain (8,665 feet) is located on the border of Glacier National Park just south of the town of St. Mary. It is a unique mountain because its summit marks the continental divide between the Artic Ocean (Hudson Bay) and the Atlantic Ocean (Gulf of Mexico).
The day we climbed Divide Mountain, just when we reached the summit a wall of smoke started pouring in from the west. A forest fire was blazing in Oregon, and the wind finally took the smoke to Glacier Park. This was the first "smoke day" of the season, and we did our best to take some photos before it got too hazy.
This is the final stretch to the summit of Divide Mountain in Glacier National Park.

We really enjoyed our time on the summit of Divide Mountain in Glacier National Park.
